At the Sundance Film Festival. I just saw a screening of a movie that was pretty insane that I wasn’t expecting called The Ugly Stepsister, which is like the body horror version of Cinderella that I never knew I wanted. It carries on that body horror tradition that started with David Cronenberg and has since been revived by the substance. And I have a feeling that when I have seen shudder put this one out, it’s going to turn into a real cult hit.
PLOT: In a fairy-tale kingdom where beauty is a brutal business, Elvira battles to compete with her incredibly beautiful stepsister, and she will go to any length to catch the prince’s eye.
