31. Do try and see the whole film. Saw it in the cinema and it sent shivers down my back. Pulsatingly vibrant, the jump scares with give you heart palpitations. Here the narrative is KING! This is an intriguing premise, injecting a unique hook into the vampire genre. The first half effectively builds tension, exploring the eerie atmosphere and the mystery surrounding the bitten girl, picked up as a hitchhiker. The film offers atmospheric scares that build to a crescendo. The cinematography is the highlight,capturing the eerie atmosphere with skilful camera angles and lighting. The film, literally, will blow you away. Thankfully, I was adamant in getting a good DVD copy for my collection. John Carpenter was one hell of a film maker!!!
