There is no room for flexibility when interacting with the 'many antichrists' who deceive, lie, steal, kill and destroy because they put themselves in place of God in the lives of unsuspecting persons.
I wish it had the level of intellectual depth I thought it would have.
However, I think it rose no further than "ENd pATriARchy!" (even though it made some small references to other ideas along the way, more as an aside I think).
If I was to translate the movie into a core idea I would end up with something like:
Kill the evil white male and his oppressive religions and end his control so the female denizens of the social dungeons below can be free.
A tedious repetition of feminist ideology.
To be fair, it was interesting how the movie took you by the hand to its conclusion. But its core idea is not a serious or interesting exploration of religion or society in my view.
If you're looking for something intellectually stimulating then avoid. Big disappointment.
But if you want an interesting horror instead, then yeah if you have no other options.

Since religion has become the cause of villainous behavior in films for at least the last 15 years, I figure a few things will happen in this film:
1. One or both of these women will give up their faith because they’ve learned a lesson that relying on themselves is more important than relying on God, and/ or
2. One or both of them will murder Hugh Grant in the end, and then realize that their innocence has been destroyed because God did not save them.
Either way, being a straight white male , Hugh Grant is doomed.
Sigh.

High Grant in a horror film? Well, maybe….. "A24" oh BOY I'm seeing this.
There is enough evil in this world without films like this and there are also people who will lead you away from the goodness of Jesus and towards evil like this which is satanic.
