Golden age of movies that were diverse with plethora of movie choices for the public died out long ago. Studios are now being run along the lines of take no risk but follow the money of what worked and makes a profit. I do not dislike a remake if done well. However when Hollywood feels that it needs to use poetic license to add characters that never existed in old legends etc then they should just go take a hike. I don't need USA to make Robin Hood movies for me as I am English and grew up with the legends and stories of Robin. Same for King Arthur and other countries around the world have similar disgust for how Hollywood depicts their culture and legends.
As for this list of not what to waste money on all I can say is well done. Time for me to go back to reading books as at least I can use my imagination to fill in details as opposed to watching CGI that tries and fails to show me how things should look.
In the past a movie found success in the quality of its script and the performance of its actors………in todays world it is relegated to how cool does this explosion look and how amazing we think our car chases are.
I am watching these trailers, and the only thing I want to see is new stargate

Of course, William Tell had a diverse family in deepest Switzerland. Let us just ignore the fact that many Swiss villagers today, have never even travelled to the next village.
