You ever hear the one about the cop, the songbird, the psycho and the mafia princess? “Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)” is a twisted tale told by Harley herself, as only Harley can tell it. When Gotham’s most nefariously narcissistic villain, Roman Sionis, and his zealous right-hand, Zsasz, put a target on a young girl named Cass, the city is turned upside down looking for her. Harley, Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya’s paths collide, and the unlikely foursome have no choice but to team up to take Roman down.

In the Warner Bros. Pictures film, Margot Robbie (“I, Tonya”) returns as Harley Quinn, alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead (“10 Cloverfield Lane,” TV’s “Fargo”) as Huntress; Jurnee Smollett-Bell (HBO’s “True Blood”) as Black Canary; Rosie Perez (“Fearless,” “Pitch Perfect 2”) as Renee Montoya; Chris Messina (“Argo,” TV’s “Sharp Objects”) as Victor Zsasz; and Ewan McGregor (upcoming “Doctor Sleep,” the “Trainspotting” films) as Roman Sionis. Newcomer Ella Jay Basco also stars as Cassandra “Cass” Cain in her feature film debut.

Directed by Cathy Yan (“Dead Pigs”) from a script by Christina Hodson (“Bumblebee”), the film is based on characters from DC. Robbie also produced, alongside Bryan Unkeless and Sue Kroll. The film’s executive producers are Walter Hamada, Galen Vaisman, Geoff Johns, Hans Ritter and David Ayer.

Joining Yan behind the scenes was a creative team comprised of director of photography Matthew Libatique (“A Star Is Born,” “Venom”); production designer K.K. Barrett (“Her”); editor Jay Cassidy (“American Hustle,” “Silver Linings Playbook”) and editor Evan Schiff (“John Wick Chapters 2 & 3”); and costume designer Erin Benach (“A Star Is Born”). The music is by Daniel Pemberton (“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”).

Warner Bros. Pictures Presents a LuckyChap Entertainment Production, a Clubhouse Pictures Production, a Kroll & Co. Entertainment Production, “Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).” Opening in theaters and IMAX nationwide on February 7, 2020, the film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

  1. Happy 5th anniversary to Birds Of Prey movie. I fell in love with Harley Quinn after watching this film. My most favourite comfort film and close to my Heart.

  2. Imagine instead of Barbara Gordon as Batgirl we got Cassandra Cain Before she is mentored by Batman. And imagine instead of Helena Wayne we got some random survivor from a family murder and call her Huntress.

  3. Just finished watching it.What a badaas movie !! Loved it.

I swear Harley Quinn is real and Magot is her cover, pretending to be an actress lol

Amazing stunts, bravo to all the stuntmen and women. The acrobatics, the filmography, the music score, the acting… every thing was perfect

  8. Future
Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn returned in The Suicide Squad (2021). In April 2020, Cathy Yan said that she would be interested in directing a sequel that would explore Harley Quinn's relationship with Poison Ivy. In February 2021, Robbie discussed working on another project featuring Quinn with The Suicide Squad director James Gunn, and both she and Leslie Grace expressed interest in a crossover between Quinn and Barbara Gordon / Batgirl, whom Grace was originally set to play in the 2022 unreleased film Batgirl and is a prominent Birds of Prey member in the comics.

In August 20, 2021, Cinelinx reported that a Black Canary solo spin-off film was in development with Smollett returning as Lance and Misha Green will write the film for HBO Max. Set photos reveal that visuals references to the character was set to be made in the 2022 film Batgirl, before its cancellation.

  10. I will never understand the hate this movie gets. Such a blast and Margot Robbie is literal perfection. The only things im not a fan of is that Black Mask dies and Cassandra Cain wasnt Cassandra Cain. (but even then this new cass cain was a fun character i just wish they named her something else) this movie is great imo its top 4 DCEU movies imo (with Shazam being #3, Wonder Woman being #2 and James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad being #1)

  11. What a Brilliant video.
