  2. Osgood Perkins from Longlegs is the Director? Take my money, please. If anyone read the book and if this film stay true to the source, we will have something very sweet and horrifying to watch.

  3. I wrote a similar comment on the other Monkey trailers so skip if you don't want to read it again.
In the 1950s a defeated, devastated post-war Japan began rebuilding and expanding a profitable wide consumer goods manufacturing base that would lead the Asian nation into an era of unprecedented prosperity by the 1970s.
One of these consumer industries was the re-emergence into the lucrative toy manufacturing industry, of which Japan had experience from the 1920s and 30s.
Out of the plethora of cheap and high-selling Japanese toys was the immensely successful and popular, Charley the Chimp, which started as both wind-up key and battery-operated versions. The battery-operated version proved more popular and sold widely in the United States in the hundreds of thousands, possible more. Accurate sales numbers are not available. One can still purchase a reproduction Charley the Chimp on the Internet. Universal Studios sold Charley the Chimps in a toy store on the Universal Boardwalk.
People in the U.S. purchased a Charley for one of two, opposite reasons. Either they found the toy monkey charming or else they found the toy so bizarre and creepy that they felt compelled own one as a compliment to the dark side of the human imagination.
More and more the Charley toy monkey became regarded as a classic scary, creepy toy. Hollywood soon picked up on this. Several films emerged using the Charley the Chimp toy monkey as a horror prop. There was the direct-to-video, "Monkey Shines". In the late 1980s there was a made-for-television fright film about a cursed Charley the Chimp toy monkey that induced grave accidents and death upon hapless victims. Charley the Chimps made a few cameo appearances in films over the past forty something years but I cannot remember the titles.
