  1. Michael Douglas has always been great, but why do film producers insist on casting 80 year old actors when they never seem to quite pull things off, like the film 1923.

  2. yeesh can you say Michael Douglas vanity project… I'm sure there's a worthwhile story here, many probably, but this does not look like it's going to be it

  3. Happy to see Michael Douglas back in the cinematic arena. And, from the preview, looking very, very good. I like this kind of historic movie, with actual DIALOGUE, and dramatic, suspenseful plot. I might have to subscribe to Apple just to see this bad boy………………………………..

  4. We need more movies about the Founding Fathers. The Revolutionary War and its many battles. The countless heroes and sacrifices made by those who settled and founded this great country that we and I as a 1st generation American enjoy. People need to now these names by heart and know the great culture from which this nations comes from. God Bless America!

  5. It's a Michael Douglas movie. I'm not seeing Franklin. They didn't do any character development or even research. Ben Franklin had a very particular personality which was greatly shaped by his relationship with his brother and his earliest experiences as layman typesetter. He was very proud of himself in how he approached his life with optimism and determination before anybody knew him. He also spent a lot of time hanging out at different churches without prejudice or preferences. Managed to make a lot of connections for fun, poker nights and he did a lot of community service to bring people together. By the time he was sent to France he was much older and the way he got the support of the French was by partying unlike Hamilton who also went there with him Hamilton didn't get a nickel because nobody liked him.

  6. I love Michael Douglas and I think this will be a fantastic movie. My issue with a great deal of movies made by Hollywood about the Colonies vs. Britain is the accent. Colonists sounded exactly the same as those that live in Britain and they were British and considered themselves British. Sure there are regional accents/dialects in the UK and those were transferred here, but no one sounded like a modern US Citizen (not even close).

  7. bad enough they don't have that period-speak; any time the writing has that lazy unserious, joking vibe. ummmm…no thanks. what a waste of $$$/production.

  8. Nice to see a movie about American history. American children are now taught in school that it's wrong to love their own country, when every other country teaches patriotism. Mexicans can love Mexico and be proud of their culture, Egyptians the same, Irish, etc etc etc but we're taught we have to be ashamed and only remember the bad parts of our history and lie down and let other cultures take over America. It's sad.

  9. I watched the first episode of Franklin and had to turn it off after about 10 minutes because I don't understand French dialog. I didn't like having to constantly read the English subtitles and didn't like the distraction of seeing the English subtitles. That was a stupid idea of having rather long French dialogs in an American film.
