  1. TEK, anyone? Young Life?

Idk if I had repressed those memories, exactly, but this movie sure brought them back! Also a confirmation retreat at Okoboji! Couldn't help but think, Catholics get their own bedrooms with bureaus and bedside lamps?? Not bunkbeds? Swank.

  2. One thing I know, there are stars shining in this dark world!
True light already shines in the dark and the darkness has not overcome it! There are people who condemn sin by their secret and public life.
But you can't know them by simply having prejudice or generalizing!
I know there is Christ and there are genuine Christians everywhere

  3. As a Christian, I may not agree with the subtle criticisms of Christian teachings in this film at all, because not all Christians (very few) think the way they do in this film (we do emphasise discovering one's self, we just emphasise the resistance to temptation and desire) – but it's a very sensitive work and I admire and appreciate the directorial effort, I really do; the director behind this film, Karen Maine, is clearly sensitively tuned to the concepts at hand, and of course, talented. It was an extremely compelling piece of dramatic comedic art, and all the critics who praise this film are certainly righteous in their applause; the film is entertaining at the very least, being well shot, well acted, well produced, and an emotionally fulfilling and enlightening comedy film all around.

  4. Father Murphy did not do a good job running the retreat. 1) Two of his leaders were engaging in sexual activity. 2) He was watching porn. 3) He gave the students access to information like what he found on his computer, which led to them gossiping.

  5. The title and the execution was distasteful. Downright sacrilegious even. I understand that everyone’s experience is different, but I feel like this film is mocking the faith of Catholics and that is not something I will tolerate. It is one thing to diminish the integrity of the people within it, but it is another thing to mock God and covertly embellish and exaggerate the wrongdoings of our church without at least showing some of the good things that we do.

The fact that this movie has been exalted in Netflix and on Rotten Tomatoes really says a lot about our fucked up society.

  6. As a Hindu I appreciate this movie. As a kid we as Hindus used to go to church as my parents use to say that all Gods are one.

But now a days Christianity is notorious . Converting Abusing Hindus and Gods and calling us Heathens.

Pray in silence is Violation done by the Christian Conversion BRIGADE 🙏
