With the future of the human race at stake, a group of young men and women, bred for intelligence and obedience, embark on an expedition to colonize a distant planet. But when they uncover disturbing secrets about the mission, they defy their training and begin to explore their most primitive natures. As life on the ship descends into chaos, they’re consumed by fear, lust, and the insatiable hunger for power. Written and directed by Neil Burger (Limitless, The Illusionist), the film stars Tye Sheridan (The X-Men franchise), Lily-Rose Depp (Savage), Fionn Whitehead (Dunkirk), Chanté Adams (Roxanne, Roxanne), Isaac Hempstead Wright (“Game of Thrones”), Viveik Kalra (Blinded by the Light), Archie Madekwe (Midsommar), Quintessa Swindell (Trinkets), Madison Hu (“Bizaardvark”), and Colin Farrell (The Gentlemen).
Lionsgate and AGC Studios present, in association with Fibonacci Films, Freecss Films Unlimited and Ingenious Media, a Thunder Road Films and Nota Bene Films production.

Sooo what the actual fuc killed richard it looked like a black force mass type shit im too high to figure this shit out but it was an alright movie
Among us: the movie
The creator of the film readily acknowledges in interviews how much he owes to William Golding's classic 1954 novel The Lord of the Flies. This movie is a pretty good Sci-Fi treatment of that book, except on a generation-ship in outer space instead of on a desert island, with sex-capable male and female teenagers instead of prepubescent schoolboys, and no Royal Navy to step in with a deus ex machina at the end to save the day.
Aside from that, it’s basically the same story, even replacing every significant character of the Golding novel with analogous versions among the adolescent crew, sometimes using almost the same exact dialogue used by the analogous characters in the 1954 book.
The story is about human nature, not technology, innate good and evil, not spaceflight. It’s about the thin veneer between civilization and barbarism and the ability or inability, and struggle, of any human society to choose one over the other.
The creator of the film readily acknowledges in interviews how much he owes to Golding's novel, so I was surprised that (as far as I can tell) neither the opening titles nor the closing credits acknowledge The Lord of the Flies, especially since the novel is still protected under copyright.
The only explanation I can think of is that Golding's estate (he died in 1993) came to a private deal with the producers of Voyagers (probably in exchange for a great deal of money) but asked that no official acknowledgment be made because they didn't want to be publicly associated with the film, much as George Bernard Shaw would not allow My Fair Lady, the movie version of this story, to be called Pygmalion because the ending of the film was too different from the ending of his play.
Otherwise, I'd expect a lawsuit (which would almost certainly be settled in favor of Golding's estate) since the plot of the movie followed most of the events of the novel rather closely. Changing the names of the book’s characters, Voyager's script copied Jack and Ralph exploring and running joyfully together at first, copied the vote for Ralph, the more "civilized" chief, once the "accident" occurred that left the children on their own, copied Jack going off and declaring he would start his own group, followed quickly by his lieutenants, copied others joining him out of fear, hunger, or just wanting to be part of the stronger group, copied the wild feast that led to the frenzied hunt for the “monster” and the subsequent killing of Simon, copied the capture of Sam and Eric, copied Piggy making his speech appealing to reason and being quickly killed as a decisive rejection of civilization, and finally copied the murderous hunt for Ralph.

This Show feels like a space version of Lord of the Flies!!
Lord of the flies, in space. Watching it now on Prime. Kinda slow and boring but ok enough to make me want to see how it turns out
I was loving the movie until they reached new earth which was still round.
First half hour was alright, rest was a snoozefest
Up to a point, this movie reminded me of Lord of the Flies with a strong theme of "good vs evil". One kid had a Satan-as-adversary role. Nothing new here but it was an okay watch. It's on Tubi if anyone cares to watch it.
they would not be able to float on the outside of the ship due to the centrifugal force of the spacecraft's rotation. When they are inside and hear the noise from outside, they should have heard it under their feet due to centrifugal gravity. (the space is under the soles, not above). It's a good movie anyway.
So Colin Farrell turned into an angel, gave up women/WAP to go babysit some kids/teens in space 😂
Just another depiction of reality and we all just drink it up as entertainment 🤦🏽♀️
What did they expect would happen if they were successful anyways?? Like guys friends would have still been stuck in traffic?😂
great cast great story, what more you need
This movie is simply full of holes in basic logic. The ship this sophisticated with this sophisticated mission doesn't even have proper monitoring systems to find a "missing" person within the ship. So many things that should be automated are still done manually.
it would've been better if Christopher got the weapons and armed up his crew and wiped out Zac and all the "do you have the alien inside you" people, since they know Zac killed Richard already yet they still choose to side with a murderer and liar.
This is such a BAD MOVIE, I can't believe I wasted two hours of my life in a Lord of the Flies in Space retelling that doesn't have any real rhyme or reason. The characters are neither interesting nor attractive enough to be engaging. DON'T WATCH IT, it pure BS.
Movie was terrible. Lord of the flies in space. plllll awful
this is one of those ____ meets______ movies. fill in the blanks and write your own movie. no attempt at original ideas here.
talk about plot holes. saltpeter as birth control in the distant future? having said that the premise of dropping puberty all at once on 18 year olds would have been interesting to explore. instead we got the plot of Lord of the Flies blatantly superimposed and a hollywood action ending tacked onto the end. can you guess who piggie was? zac rymes with jack. what a clever homage. nevertheless, it was enjoyable.
Need a sequel
I tried to watch this movie twice and it was so bad I couldn’t finish watching it and the actors were great it is the story line! THIS MOVIE IS STUPID! It makes no sense why would these great actors act in this movie ? Why even read the script if makes no sense whatsoever! If you’re going to make a sci-fi movie please keep it as realistic as possible because this movie was worse than any sci-fi movie ever! The script is garbage!
I don't think it's possible for teenagers to co-exist in a confined space for very long, without a hormone blocker of some sort. Without some form of physical supervision, teens with explore the darkest depths of nature's instincts.
You can'y let them run amuk or they will destroy everything.
Haven’t seen it but it already reminds me of “The Giver”
Just saw the movie for the first (and last) time on Netflix… Not one “Black” or African male on the voyage. And the Only “Black” or of African descent female gets murdered for being wise and level headed… so none in the new world. Noticeable and very interesting.
That really shows, that the scientists back on earth did not do their research when selecting their children to safe humanity! In order to do violent acts, such as forcing a young women to have sex, you must have that violent gene in your dna! This blue substance is there to control your emotions and urges until the time is right. Stop using this blue substance will bring out the true nature in them.
There is purpose for having a disciplined crew, how can you be productive when you lose control over your emotions, chaos will emerge, and will bring the downfall of humanity!
Humans are their only enemy!
Next time do a move trailer that's only 50 seconds like they used too. It use to be a piece of piss.
Whites only movie. Good. I'm getting the 4k based on that. I an't giving my money to no DEI freaks of nature.
Well great job putting the plot twist in the trailer……. asshats
very bad storyline
It only takes one to start a domino effect.
That was one of the worst movies I watched lately. I had to skip though it just to finish it.
So, they got their sperms/eggs from MIT students.
However, with affirmative action, those gametes could be worthless.
So suspended animation was always Hollywood BS? Thought so.
I wanted to like this movie. I remember did, especially since Lily-Rose Depp is in it but it was super disappointing. It’s not a terrible movie but it’s not something I’d watch a second time. To be honest they should have ran with the idea of an alien. That would have given this movie some more intrigue. They all would have been fighting forces inside and out. This reminded me of The Mist where the crazy bible lady started getting followers who turned on the others, lol. That’s what made it disappointing. And why wasn’t that tall curly headed weirdo punished? Anyway, it’s nice to see Lily-Rose Depp in a movie. She’s super hot but even her nor Colin Farrell could save this movie.
nah.
this kinda feels like a modern version of Lord of the flies, with a slightly older cast, except no one comes to their rescue, so they have to do it themselves.
Wie heißt der Film
I think this movie was portrayed well exactly how teenagers would act aggressive and stupid some are smarter then others but teenagers need guidance as they are still learning and are more confused then ever
that shit again ? kids without adult supervision go nuts. corn field children 2.0
Archie madekwe needs to be in more movies and be more supported.
Not worth watching let a lone renting watching it now but not reallly on scifi just sooo drawn out🤬🤬🤬🤬
So it was. Lord of the flys but in space hahaha
this movie is so ass
Isn't this pretty much the movie "Equals", but in space?
Worst movie ever
Unfortunately we all know a guy who is just like Zac…
massive metaphor of modern society
This has to be the worst movie of the last few years, I am guessing that the ones who liked it are horny teenagers themselves. This is a very bad "lord of the Flies" ripoff.
