Well I never thought I'd live to see the day…..a brilliant, fresh, intelligent, witty , original and hilarious new comedy drama. 10/10. Fantastic cast , great music.👍 loving every episode. "Christmas special ?" 💖
Watched 1st episode tonight and it’s amazing 🤩
Oh dear. I had high hopes for this, but it's yet another unfunny comedy.
This type of story has been told a million times in British film and TV but one of the best and little seen ones is the 1985 film Mr Love.
The feedback you don't need but got anyway.
Just as Guy Ritchie loves the Mockney accent, (not Roadman or Estuarine), so do actresses love what we northerners refer to as the shoe in, cod, Northern(MCR) accent, which is more about the emotional tone of surprise/ outrage over trifles, and "being thicko working class" and with much much gurning.
You mostly only hear an iteration of it from very elderly OAPs from Rochdale (and Les Dawson in drag retrospectives, presumably)
It just feels like London Middle class disdain, and panto level depth of character, and costume, not homage or actual observation.
The outraged aspect of the tone is so jarring it constantly triggers the orientation response, and when the laugh lines are neon sign posted, as in the jokes are predictable and safe, mostly based on exaggeration, its like having your sleeve tugged constantly, by a small child only for the toddler to say "nothing" and then laugh to themselves, rinse, repeat.
Rubbish
Looks great!
Two thirds of my favourite Car Share episode cast, looks great!
Inspector Lestrade, have you gained weight recently? (sorry…)
