Now that Season 1 is well behind us, I thought I'd re-visit this trailer and give my thoughts on the series.
I want to state this first and outright: I absolutely loved the series overall. The human drama in the series matched the video game.
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey really grew on me as Joel and Ellie.
I will give the show credit for one thing they did better than the game: When Ellie gets David. In the show, that scene is (somehow) even more brutal than in the game and just as heart-wrenching.
However, I have criticisms of the series.
1. I didn't like how they watered Tess down. In the game, she's clearly the Brains of her and Joel's operation, she's clearly calling the shots, and in the series they made her a weak character.
2. The series needed way more action and Infected. They did such a magnificient job setting up the Cordyceps infection and I loved the change from spores to mycelium. With mycelium, you step on it and could alert a horde a mile away. They set it up and never used it.
3. Joel and Ellie's journey, aside from the Kansas City episode, it never really felt like they were in danger. In the game, the Infected (and other people) are a constant threat. In the game, you never know what is around the next corner and danger is ever present. The series pretty much took all that away.
In summary, I loved the series but thought it fell woefully short in action.
Looks like another stupid Zombie movie!
Damn. It supposed to be the best tv show I’ve ever watched. What the duck have you done.
THE BEST SERIES EVER❗️🤩🏆🥇
I can't wait for the new season… 🥰
