  1. How is it that they sold so hard on a picture book (not really) like this turned into absolute garbage, nothing related to the tone, Chris Pratt? Like they shouldn’t even give credit to Simon because this is FAR from what the book is. It’s only based off of the illustration and that’s it, complete waste of money and time.

  2. THE ELECTRIC STATE:

    -No action.

    -No jokes.

-There is no robot revolution or epic battles.

-Wars and battles are narrated as past events, showing only their disastrous consequences in the present.

    -No cheesy music.

-Relates a journey in which the characters involved reflect introspectively.

-Talks about a collapse of humanity as slow as it is disturbing of which the characters feel part of it.

-Plays with the uncertainty of the end of the world, no one knows how or when it will happen, but everyone is very clear that the world is collapsing.

-People in general flee from the hardships they experience in reality by using virtual reality, with even more disastrous consequences for them.
-Inserts consumerism in its darkest facet as part of an environment of horror resulting from excess technology.
-The resulting horror of the world is a consequence of the misuse of technology, wars help that, but they are not the main cause.
-When people connect to Sentre neuronics, they lose "a bit" more than just the human connection.
-No robots that launch refrigerators with catapults.
-No giant semi-kawaii looking robots carrying vans on their shoulders.

  3. I hope Simon Stålenhag yanked as much money as possible from Netflix's scummy little grip. I just finished reading his hauntingly beautiful art book. It's still with me. What a gorgeous and chilling masterpiece. At least Amazon was somewhat successful in capturing his very unique tone in Tales From The Loop. Netflix CLEARLY could not give two shits about his actual story.

  4. This looks HORRIBLE. Nothing like the source material, in fact it looks like its so opposite the source material the director of this film missed the entire freaking point. SO frustrating. Just another badly made blockbuster sh*t pile. This film should have been made by A24 or by the same people who make Black Mirror.
