17. One of my favorite film critics, Matt Page saw this at a festival and said some things that make me want to see this more. First, the main character is a con man from the start. I’m not sure whether he learns his lesson or if this is a Breaking Bad situation where the villain is the main character. Page also said that the casting seems to be an artistic choice in order to show how bigoted the Romans were towards Christians and Jewish people. For example, every historical record that we have of Pilate highlights his brutal antisemitism.

    I have heard some argue that these “miracle workers” were fakes. That might be.

    I also can’t help but think about Jesus’ teaching regarding how a nation against itself cannot stand. Those miracle workers seemed to be helping. Could they have been doing those miracles with God’s blessing?

    I don’t know and I’m not sure how I could even begin to know. I like the idea of a movie that explores it though! ☺️

27. A lot of the comments here talking about not respecting God and being blasphemous or making fun of peoples’ religion aren’t really trying to understand the concept. Since religion began they’ve been people trying to profit of it, still happens today. As soon as someone tries to mention that, it’s dismissed as blasphemy or the work of the devil. We live in a time when people do not wisely fear God, where people that are not Christians make movies and TV shows about Jesus, and make fun of and attempt to rewrite history, and what is sad , is that People that call themselves Christians will participate and go see it, maybe even take their kids.😔 Nothing is kept Holy anymore!. If you know anything as a Christian. You know God is not to be mocked and we are not to misrepresent, add to or take away anything from His Word, and purposely leading people astray is a serious offense in God's eyes. There will be those that claim it's just a movie. What's the big deal ? If you are a Christian YOU know the tactics of the enemy, . The Bible is simply off limits to unbilical interpretation and artistic reinterpretation. I pray that people, especially people who look like me 🙍🏽‍♀️🙍🏾‍♀️🙍🏿‍♀️ don't fall into this trap because they replaced the historical figure with people that look like us. If you want new understanding about Christ, please read the bible and seek out ligetimit Christian content. 36. This feels like a joke someone tells you that is in poor taste and lands flat….however….this is the first trailer, perhaps subsequent trailers will present the movie in a better way.

    On a side note, this type of subject matter; if you want to make a comedy, it would be best to go full Monty Python (IMHO)
