Injured U.S. soldier Miles Willis awakens after witnessing a blinding white light from a battlefield in Iraq to discover he is trapped in a mysterious cube armed only with his combat gear. His dire situation escalates as the cube begins to change with violent shifts in gravity and the appearance of cryptic writing on the walls. As Miles begins to question his sanity, he finds a lifeline – a voice on the other end of his satellite phone who claims to be a prisoner in a similar space. 1. It’s fascinating to be left speechless after experiencing a movie, especially for someone like me who is an avid movie watcher. Typically, I can articulate my thoughts or feelings about a film, using terms like “good” or “bad” to summarize my reaction. However, with this particular film, "Abandon," I find myself at a loss for words. It’s a film that defies easy categorization and leaves me grappling with a mixture of emotions and thoughts that are difficult to encapsulate in the usual descriptors.

Perhaps this sense of confusion stems from the film's narrative structure or thematic depth. There may be elements that challenged my expectations or provoked questions I hadn’t considered before. It’s possible that "Abandon" has such a unique approach to storytelling that it doesn't fit neatly into established genres or tropes. This lack of familiarity can create a sense of disorientation, making it hard to form a definitive opinion.

Additionally, the film might have stirred up a range of emotions—confusion, intrigue, discomfort, even inspiration—that complicates my ability to label it as simply “good” or “bad.” Movies that push boundaries or delve into unconventional subjects often leave us reflecting long after the credits roll, forcing us to confront not just the film itself but also our own perspectives and biases.

Moreover, the performances, cinematography, and soundtrack might have evoked powerful sensations that left a strong impact on me. They could have resonated with certain aspects of my life or experiences, making me reflect on deeper personal themes that are hard to articulate.

In a way, being stuck on how to respond to "Abandon" speaks to the film's complexity and artistic merit. It’s a testament to its ability to provoke thought and stir emotions beyond the surface level. Perhaps I need to take a moment to let my thoughts simmer, allowing the film's nuances to unravel in my mind before coming to a more coherent conclusion. After all, this kind of response—being unable to categorize it like a typical film—could signify that "Abandon" is a piece of art that truly resonates, even if I can’t quite explain why yet. (Not my words, AI, but that's exactly what I wanted to say)

  2. The worst move I've seen in 2024 so far!
I like these type of one person stories, but this one suffers… To make a movie entertaining like that you gonna need a good and interesting main character. Failed. You might think this will be like the Cube, but no… It felt empty, booooring, cheaply made and way to stretched (almost 2 hours). If you still decide to watch it and make it to the end, that won't give you any satisfaction or answer to the happenings. I don't say this often, but was The Abandon was a waste of time.

  3. This movie was bla. I liked the premise but the "solution" was idiotic and made no sense at all. And of course it just has to have a cliffhanger. The writers will NEVER explain anything because they want to hook you into an endless….loop, thus endless movies. Oh and yet again a woke moment. They're about to die and the Woman who is a mathematician and yet is not? And can solve the idiotic equation but 1st she has to be a victim and makes the guy admit he's a bad man because her husband beat her. Yet takes NO responsibility at all for not leaving her husband the 1st or 2nd or 3rd time he beat her. She caused her own victim-hood and wallows in it. She had a great career and could have left at any time. But blame this main character who is a stranger mind you and get him to admit he's bad when they have seconds before they're about to be crushed.

  4. This was better than Borderlands and I guarantee your rendition of the crow also gets 0% on rotten tomatoes. Cleanse your writing staff. Hire a bunch of geeks that hate everything woke and start over. We'll grant you a second chance.

  5. Just finished watching this movie. It is not as good as the Cube, Platform or The Circle.

The main actors, a soldier and a school teacher, were pretty good, especially since it's mostly a one-person movie. The film sometimes relies on convenient new information to solve plot issues, which can be distracting (either script or editing issues). However, the ending is very well thought out. Despite its limited budget, the movie offers good value and is worth a watch for its strong performances and clever conclusion.
