Robert Blair- Mayne was from Newtownards in N.I. ( Ulster). He was well educated and an athlete and a champion boxer. He never used profane language. He was an outstanding soldier and great leader of men, led by example and was fearless in the face of the enemy!

To be fair, this would be a great Motto. Not official of course, Officers/Politicians has mostly to much of a Stick in thier Ass but inofficial… yeah.
My uncle was in 2 para followed by the SAS. He never once mentioned the SAS ever. Every story was through the lense of being a Para. We only found out he was SAS at his funeral when the SAS association members came sporting the berets and placards. They confirmed that he wasn't a Para at Aden and Suez crisis, he was already a badged member working with the Paras. He didn't even tell his own children or his sister (my mother) ….
I don’t know why BBC only made this a six part series. They should have made it a 24 episode season, like they used to make shows in the old days 😅
