  8. Why are we glorifying this?!?! Violence, death, blood, guns, and oh yeah. A 12 (or however old she is supposed to be) year old girl shooting guns and following at her daddy’s feet. Wow. If this is where we are now, we’re fucked. It’s entertainment a little girl shooting a gun at people? Real life fucking sucks. Movies are supposed to make us forget. Gross. As a parent, I’m appalled. Way to make it look cool to be a shoot em up cowboy parent. Wow. What’s even sadder?! It’ll probably make a ton of money, too. Why? Seems like a family movie for sure!

    This world sucks when it’s become a fun movie watching experience while traumatizing a child for the rest of her life. Cool. Sounds like fun! This planet…

    But so long as Tarik looks hot, it’s all good, right?! It’s really sad that he seems to be the highlight of all the comments, instead of being appalled. Sheeple, I tell you. I don’t care what is said back to me, I won’t be looking. I’m sure I’m out on a ledge, alone anyhow, for not thinking child endangerment is cool and Hollywood. And that’s ok.

  26. Jordan Harper, the author of this novel, is one of the greatest doing it today.

    Read this novel and anything you can get your hands on by him.

    The Last King of California, Everybody Knows, and his short stories, Love and Other Wounds.

    All stunning.

    He is the heir to Ellroy. (Look up his time as showrunner for the LA Confidential show, a show which should've been widely acclaimed and possibly wrapping up around now…a damn loss. I long to see the highly regarded pilot that was shot.)

    Most of all, I cannot wait to see what he and Ed Brubaker have done with the upcoming Criminal series.
