  1. if only this game was like ultimate alliance. was sorely disappointed that they made this into an xcom game. there's nothing slower and less exciting then watching characters all stand around doing nothing while one person moves at time… who thought marvel should have less action and interest??? even that one recent game that I can't even remember the name of has better gameplay then this. take this games aesthetic with that games gameplay and you'll have the first ever triple A marvel game!

  2. TURN BASED CARD GAME!!!! U GO THROUGH ALL THAT BEAUTIFUL CINEMATIC WORK AND HYPE FOR A TURN BASED CARD GAME WHAT A SWING AND MISS…I was scared it was going to be a game like mortal combat and I didn’t know it was possible to be even more disappointed with the result. How this isn’t an action adventure rpg is just beyond me. We would all love to play this game as the superhero’s in real time how could they think that turn based cards is the answer!!! Then I realized ohhhh they can charge for packs to get cards that’s allllllll this is about isn’t it.

  3. instead of gameplay reveal, might as well be honest and call it gameplay TOUCHED UP CINEMATICS reveal.
    you barely get clues to how its played and the footage of actual gameplay you see is nothing but a move per character that tells us its a turned based …….what?

  4. Firaxis is so embarrassing at this point. They had a great rep, one of the best in the industry. They broke out of the Civ niche with XCOM, and got praise from every outlet in the business. So they decided to expand. Bigger HQ, 35% increase in staff, and a bunch of loans to finance all of that.

    But loans have to be paid back. So the priority for the company was now money, in a way that it never had been before. Putting out games was no longer on a "when it's done" basis, they needed to push titles out the door to recoup what they laid out to expand.

    What was the result? Civ 6, Chimera Squad, and now this. Literally all they had to do was make XCOM with Marvel characters and everybody would have loved it. Instead we get this card game that looks like a mobile port with marginally better graphics.

  5. Stratagy and Card Battle are two gameplay styles that do mix… but not well. I have played Metal Gear Acid and got about 2 hours in befor i got sick of the hand mechanic limiting my stratagy potental and blocking progression when I was lacking cards. There is a reason that the majority of stratagy games fallow similar formulas of gameplay. RTS games are like advanced games of chess. You analyze the board, the potental moves, and potential counters. When playing a Card game you are subject to a number of randomized factors. When looking at a card game the majority if the strategy is in how you build a deck and how you can manipulate you cards. At that point you know your cards so it is just a matter of having the right ones at rhe right time.

    What this means is once the game starts… it is already over. On the other end if the cards are static there is not strategy just luck or RNG.

    Ether way by melding cards with a Strategy games you effectively damper the best parts of a stratagy game.

  6. WHY!? Why do they always shove card mechanics into a game? If it's not a card game, it's got no reason being a core function. 7 -1 odds it's so they can add some random card packs you can buy with real money.
