Stacey Dooley has moved into a convent to explore the lives of nuns. While attending a Bible study session, Stacey asks the nuns some difficult questions about its role in today’s society.

  2. The Bible should begin with….."Once Upon A Time"…….other works of Myths/Fantasy/Fiction are available and are much better than a book of Man made stories/fables.

  4. I like Stacey. She comes across as very authentic and sincere and respectful. But I would like to know what wars caused by the Bible she is referring to. Obviously there are the Crusades, which were terrible, but many more wars have been done in the name of something other than the Bible. Just look at the 20th century, maybe the bloodiest of all centuries. People turned their backs on God and tens of millions were killed (Nazi Germany, Communist Russia). I'm not saying all religious people or Christians are good – I've certainly met some fellow Christians I have not liked, and I have some non-religious friends who are very kind and good – but I believe that the world would be a much better place if people turned to Christ and lived the Gospel message genuinely and with love.

  5. They're trying to have their cake and eat it if you ask me. The Bible is an awful collection of texts which condones human sacrifice, animal sacrifice, slavery, misogyny and genocide and it needs leaving in the past cos we know better now.

    The same applies for Muslims who misinterpreted the Quran in the way to fit their agenda

  13. Wars were never started by Christianity. And if you let corrupt humans influence your thoughts on God’s word, then maybe you have no faith in God. What a shame.

  14. Sorry. But this woman’s questioning is askew. It’s a Holy book!! The inherent word of our Holy GOD. There’s nothing outdated about it. This book teaches how to get to heaven, who created us. Why we are such unworthy creatures that deserve Hell. This book is basically all about the one Savior, Jesus Christ, God’s son, who died on the cross and rose from the dead 3 days later. It also reveals the future of Christ’s second return and what is to happen in the END TIMES. And yes! Without a doubt we are in the end times and the Generation that will see his Glorious return. This is no mystery. Jesus says we are to know when the time is near by the signs. And they are laid out in plain simple language for us to understand. The fact that this woman brings up that question tells me she’s part of the devil’s plan. What a shame.

    Religion can't be tolerated in times of tyranny, so the BBC is all for people not bothering with it and favouring their props instead.

  26. Why does anyone care about the accuracy of a book written half a millennia after unrecorded events supposedly occurred by people of entirely different cultures? Just enjoy the fiction. There's no information that needs to evolve.

  28. Her style of journalism is extremely judgemental. The topics she explores are often divisive on nature or emotive. Compared to someone like Louis Theroux, I'd argue that she mainly aims to reinforces the view of the audience. Sadly I don't think she helps find the nuanced grey area critical journalism seeks out.

  29. No its not. It's God's law and a guide on how we should see God and live our lives. Societal norms change constantly but God never changes. The world is lost and off the mark, not Gods word. It is the best way to live our lives and view the world around us and others in it. No matter what any person says or thinks that will always be the case and there's nothing any of these anti-christian people can do about it. I would expect nothign less than this from the BBC and why I'm proud not to have a tv licence.
