  1. The last Frankenstein movie I watched was "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein", starring Kenneth Branagh and Robert DeNiro;
Both of them were brilliant in their roles.

This new one looks awesome! 🔥

  2. I saw the movie. What a shitty trick this was. Trailers make it seem like a faithful adaptation. The movie was a mishmash of old movie reimagining, Guillermo’s own story, and 15 minutes out of the book. Nothing cohesive whatsoever. Lied to by trailers again. What a disappointment.

  3. I fell asleep in between this movie in theaters and this was tough to endure for nearly two and half hours. The first half was rough. My only regret was not walking out when I had the chance to doing so because I knew that I should've alot quicker than sooner!

  4. I saw it on Halloween and I didn't like it as much as I had hoped. I don't hate Guillermo Del Toro as a filmmaker, author, and writer. He's done some excellent movies and I've enjoyed some of his earlier movies. Except for The Shape of Water, and Frankenstein. But, I did however enjoy watching: Crimson Peak, Pan's Labyrinth, Nightmare Alley, Hellboy, and Hellboy 2: The Gold Army!

  5. The greatest Frankenstein movie so far!

Still not particularly close to the book, but definitely a great film.

Something about this book makes people want to make it into a movie, and then make that movie not especially close to the book, lol.

As opposed to Dracula, which got a film adaptation within 25 years of the novel's publication that was so accurate it got successfully sued for plagiarism.

  6. This has become one of my most favorite movies of all time. The message behind the movie is so powerful. I cried so many times.
    positives: dodged many bullets..
    1. no romance between the lead female and any of the characters, as that would have undermined the bond of humanity.
    2. A bit too much violent at times, but held back on it when it mattered.. such as the scene with the hunters in the hut.
    3. Really focused on the human aspect and ended the film on a good note.

    Negatives:
    1. Some scenes are too violent.
    2. unnecessary nudity by a random character in one scene.. this movie needs to be available to younger audience to understand the big message behind the film.
    3. In the middle it was not clear who is chasing who.
    4. Waltz character was unnecessary and too much of coincidence of him being so connected to every other character.

  7. it's a crime this was limited cinema release and than straight to Netflix, a masterpiece like this deserves better than Netlix and so many didn't have a chance to see it on big screen

  8. Just saw this in the cinema absolutely astounding! Best film I've seen in a long long time. 100% gunna buy it on physical 4k blue ray. I suggest everyone who loves it do the same. Support your favourite directors! Buy physical media!

  9. The 90s version is way better than this crap. Del Toro’s vanity project is nothing but that. Hollywood needs to stop making remakes of classics, bc all they do is butcher the original work of the real artists. Oscar Isaac is too old and plain looking and not European for this role, so are you hollyweirdos going to cry culture appropriation? I guess not since you’re a bunch of hypocrites.
