Synopsis: Emmy nominee Meghann Fahy, breakout star of White Lotus and The Perfect Couple, plays Violet, a widowed mother on her first date in years, who arrives at an upscale restaurant where she is relieved that her date, Henry (It Ends with Us’ Brandon Sklenar) is more charming and handsome than she expected. But their chemistry begins to curdle as Violet begins being irritated and then terrorized by a series of anonymous drops to her phone. She is instructed to tell nobody and follow instructions or the hooded figure she sees on her home security cameras will kill Violet’s young son and babysitting sister. Violet must do exactly as directed or everyone she loves will die. Her unseen tormentor’s final directive? Kill Henry.

  1. Looks incredibly generic, like a 90s direct-to-video with slightly better cinematography and 20s anxiety over social media. Neither the kids nor the date will die, unless the date sacrifices himself or he somehow turns out to be the master villain.

    How to make this movie interesting: One kid is instantly killed when Mom tries to buy time. Mom then kills the date in the first act.

    Is it because cheap direct-to-streaming horrors/thrillers are so amazingly awful that Blumhouse can pump out this kind of sleep inducing drivel into cinemas? Because it's slightly better than Shark Exorcist? I'm not saying the Blumhouse model can't work, because they gave us gems like Creep, Get Out and The Invisible Man (despite the cultist and the bad ending), but look at a list of Blumhouse horrors and it's 95% C-movie trash.
