  1. 8:21 That “your welcome” made me feel safe. It’s crazy how she changes tone from robotic in the way she relays information or commands to when she comforting him in a sincere way. Top tier acting.

  2. It brings me to tears too every time I see it. They were the real medics assigned to the ship. I could tell instantly the first time I saw the film. The first take was ruined because the medic was so stunned to be right next to Tom Hanks. So they did another take and the director said: "Just treat him the same way you would treat any wounded hostage in shock." She said later that Hanks acted exactly like a traumatized person in shock and she went right into medic mode. The whole scene was unscripted and ad-libbed. It was added at the very last moment when the director found out that sick bay was Phillips' first stop after being rescued. The professional compassion, soothing him, helping him regulate, combined with brisk medical assessment — it's a hallmark of the people who do this for a living. It really shows. It's the best of being human.

  3. "Stop the tow"! Then, "Execute"! Such a well done scene 👏 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
And then to see those Navy snipers get their things and get going. Just stunning because this is a reality of what these exceptional soldiers do in protection of Americans every day all around the globe 🌎.
This movie was so powerful and so rich with emotions it elicited. I loved it ❤

  4. I commend our service personnel for there upmost professionalism thank you all service men and women in the greatest country to have the privilege to live in ❤❤

  5. Saw this on tv for the first time last night & this scene brought me tears & goosebumps, unbelievable,EXCELLENT acting by mr Hanks..He plays terrified & in chock 10/10.

  6. My command had a 4 month train up prior to Iraq 2005. One event involved a village of "violated" women and kids to learn keeping our own emotions under control and safe guarding the village in every way possible. A legit interpreter was in place for realism, including bystanders both for and against our medical assistance. Although role playing, my "victim" got emotional from me peaking her treatment of gentleness and dignity than she ever shown; asking to look her over, put hands on her, etc. I forced "NO" response to show her voice would be heard and honored. They were all covered like nuns. When the evolutions secured, I learned she was an actual refugee, help "the American military" prepare. I showed her more kindness she had never seen. As units rolled through, I got the impression she "felt the treatment" and got to relax.

  7. 6:39 This is why we like having women working medical duties. Utmost professionals, doing their job, but there is an unquantifiable skill females have in soothing the nerves of men.

  8. 3:21
    SEAL Commander: Execute!
    Me: FIRE!

What a shot by the SEAL Snipers in that scene, Brilliant! Right on target at the 3 hostage takers at Point Blank Range! Excellent scene in the film that was!
