  1. Great show, just saw this downunder, reminds me of Sherwood and the Man Hunt series. Time shift is smooth, more of the families and less of the girlfriend would have been better though. Love the music in the early 70's soundtrack.

  5. I kept seeing the trailer for this and thinking "okay, i know that damn voice, that's 100% philip glenister's voice, yet that looks nothing like him, does this guy just sound exactly like him??"
    It's the moustache throwing me off. I'm that person in a cartoon that would be tricked by a fake moustache. God help me.

  9. Okay, so I had never heard of this case before this week and oh my god there's so uch more to the story!

    I volunteer at my local library and a woman came in to get some printing done. When they send things to print at the library, you have to go to the front desk so that we can release it manually for you and I saw that it was a document in order to sue the makers of the Steeltown Murders drama series (before anyone gets up in arms about privacy, we are a council building and if we see any sort of document being printed with the council logo or has anything to do with benefits etc, we don't charge for them).

    The lady who was going through with the court case is actually the cousin of one of the victims of the case, Geraldine, and the series itself was very unfair in it's depiction of her and her memory. Geraldine's cousin told us how they were actually quite close and she knew her well enough to know she would never do any of the stuff they claimed she did in the show and if the cousin hadn't have gone to the fair that night instead of out dancing with Geraldine and their friend, she probably wouldn't be here to get justice. So all in all, whatever story is told about any kind of murder or crime, take everything with a grain of salt and do more research if you aren't entirely sure because there are multiple sides to every story.

  10. I watched the first twenty minutes. They were all talking about maybe starting an investigation into some old murders. I was kinda thinking "go ahead! Start! This is a TV show, just go on and do some investigating!" And then I turned it off.

  11. A good story, well-acted and well-produced and I suppose historically accurate. It could be a slightly shorter series as it does drag a bit but the 70s bits seem like they’re accurate (though I wasn’t born then). I recommend it.

  15. This is a brilliant show with an actual STORY that will have you glued to it’s seat by the sheer magnificent performances & writing by Ed Whitmore. It’s not you’re run of the mill detective story but more over an emotional roller coaster that is heavy in it’s storytelling plots & style. 10 /10 for this Welsh production & the cinematography by Sam Thomas is world class too.
