  5. I saw the mini series back in the 80's when I was a kid and the scene with Danny at the window scared the crap out of me. I just finished the book about 10 days ago. So good! The book blew me away and had me genuinely scared at a couple scenes. I decided to come here to see the trailer and decide if I wanted to watch this remake. I feel like this is going to ruin the book now that I have read it. So, no thanks. I will pass.

  11. Just finished watching it. Fantastic. Really. Never watched the original nor read the novel, but I was very entertained. I studied film in college, so I was pleased that it hit certain points.

  20. Absolute worst Richard Straker ever. No one can beat James Mason's best all time Straker. But Donald Sutherland did a viable job. However this third rendition is absolute crap. The idiot director Gary Dauberman and the absolute garbage producer/director James Wan obviously chose this guy because he they think that just because they make the character gayish it makes him inherently more evil. I literally hate the absolute garbage work of anything Dauberman and Wan have made. Both are talentless hacks that make the most pathetic movies. Everything they touch turns to crap. They have the Manure Touch. I give them credit only for the first "Saw" that Wan did. And somehow Dauberman managed to pull off "It" and "It" but only because of the actors. This third version of Salem's Lot was an absolute waste of money. It was utter garbage. Directed and produced by two film industry losers. It was almost as pathetic as a Mike Flanagan. It amazes me that America Hollywood produces such pathetic hacks in the area of horror films. Again, this movie was absolutely not scary at all. The choices the directer and producer made were a joke in every aspect. Yes, I, and probably many others could make a far better film or films than both Dauberman and Wan have ever made. The Richard Straker actor is just the first worst thing they did in this film. They literally had him acting like he was the same character he was in GoT. It is infuriating that such talentless hacks are given so much power and money to ruin everything they touch. And they keep getting paid work. Hollywood is dead because the people who run it are all idiots at best.

  24. If you're looking for an accurate adaption of Stephen Kings masterpiece you won't find it here. The first 40 minutes skims over the books first few chapters then it just stops trying to be an adaption and becomes it's own ridiculous mess.

    Genuinely so let down with this after a string of accurate and successful King adaptions.

    Avoid.

  32. SPOILER COMMENT! (THIS IS WHY THIS MOVIE IS NOT WORTH WATCHING).

    A: An 11 year old magically has powers to kill grown up vamps and humans. (He himself is a normal kid with no special abilities).

    B: The whole movie feels like a rush and there is very little details. The first hour of the movie is very fast-paced.

    C: One kid died due to a vamp attack. In his funeral, the priest left without burying the coffin. That job was given to one man with a shuffle, who did it during the night. (Very unlikely to happen).

    D: They say during the film that vamps don’t have blood. But there are some scenes that shows blood when the vamps are getting stabbed.

    E: When people lose their loved ones to the vamps, not as much as a single tear is being shed. There is zero crying or moments that shows heartbreaks or mental breakdowns. Very bad acting. For example; The 11 year old kid’s family is being eaten alive in front of him. The kid does not cry or break mentally.

    – The whole film is nothing but a bad action comedy.

The new version of Salem's lot stinks they could have done so much more with it today but the didn't .the original is still the best and the new one cannot even beat the series of Salem's lot so much for Stephen King saying it was good I wouldn't listen to him rating any movie the new version stinks they could have done so much more with Salem's lot but they didn't what a shame .the original is still the best long live David Soul

  35. WHY was the writing so idiotic?! I mean it was comically bad! Every character behaved completely unrealistically, all the dialogue was as if a 14 year old had written it…

    SooOOooooo bad! This could have been cool, like "Lost Boys", instead it was just silly, beyond belief!
