  4. It’s such pity that the late queen should be portrayed like this. She has suffered enough. Let’s respect her and not say things which were not true. If she was anything she was a wonderful woman wife daughter and mother. Not a party animal like shown in movies. She suffered because of her mother her husband and the already dwindling conditions of France which were not her fault . She was misunderstood then let’s please clear the waters for her now.   31. Something I've noticed about MA is that every generation has given her their own spin by projecting onto her the ideals of the time. In times when people were more religious they portrayed her like a saintly figure. The 2006 movie emphasised the party girl aspect because Paris Hilton and party culture was in at the time. This adaption portrays her like a modern day feminist. But the truth is Marie Antoinette was really none of these things. The waters are so muddied because even back in her own day, people spread rumours about how she was. Very sad that some 250 years later, she is still projected onto rather than given the best effort to be portrayed accurately.
