  1. Some dude just wrote a generic horror movie script and added time loop, and then some exec said up we'll do it but need a better title, looked up horror video games and picked Until dawn. thats how we got this IMDb future rated 5/10 movie

From IMDb trivia: "This film adaptation diverges significantly from the storyline of the original video game, introducing an entirely new ensemble of characters that expand the narrative. The plot has been reimagined and altered, taking bold creative liberties that set it apart from the source material, offering viewers a fresh perspective on the themes and action inherent in the game."

The word salad to say its something very different from the game.

  2. Now hear me out… I know it would have been massive work for the production team working on the film, but imagine if (in the true spirit of the game) they shot various alternate takes of each characters scene where they could either live or die, edit them together to make dozens of essentially the same film narratively, but with different outcomes, and whichever version you saw depended on which session you happened to attend. It would give cinema goers an experience unlike any they've ever had before!
And finally, with the bluray release they could have either a randomizer mode (which gives you the same unique viewing experience you had in cinema) or an editing tool that allows you to construct the version you want to see (by selecting each characters fate of live or die one by one).
How cool would that be?! Totally missed opportunity there!
