  1. My (step)dad was the dad I always needed, and I feel bad for wanting to connect with my real dad when I was a little one. I didn’t know any better, I thought maybe if he met me he would want to spend time with me. My true dad has always been there for me.

  2. call me cold but after my father abandoned me when i was nine i never asked why i just continued to live being jealous of those around me that had fathers in their life. even now at 55 i could care less why he did what he did i would just even if for one moment have my father to just sit and have a conversation about anything.

  3. As someone whos had an absent father the writing and acting were spot on. Going from pretending not to care to anger and then heartbreak is usually exactly how situations like this go having been there myself

  4. You know. I know a lot of people hate Will Smith because of what he did to Chris Rock at the Oscars. Yes. He should not have gone on the stage and slapped him. We all make mistakes and we all do bad, silly, stupid and crazy stuff from time to time. Love him or hate him, Will Smith is a great actor. This powerful scene from Fresh Prince and the heartbreaking death of Sam the Dog in I Am Legend shows what an actor Will Smith is. The best pieces of acting by Will Smith. Although the speech Will Smith makes at the end was unscripted, I believe Will Smith put real emotion and that anger into his brilliant performance. It must really anger Will that fathers are not there for their kids. I know what he did was wrong and Will was only defending and standing up for Jada. I hope one day Will will be forgiven and will get a second chance. It's a shame that were now live in world of wokeness, violence, crime, racism and hatred.

  5. WHY WOULD YOU CUT OFF THE BEST PART??

Will's present here was a dad holding his son in the most loving way possible and it was supposed to pan out before fading to black

HE WAS GONNA GIVE THAT TO HIM.

  6. I feel strongly for The Fresh Prince! My dad liked my older sister Veronica better than he liked me. She spent all the time with her and none with me. Now he is not walking the earth anymore.

  7. Very well executed, so well that it makes me tear up years later. I watched this show when I was a kid and absolutely loved it. Pulled up this scene to show my kids this episode

  8. Man, I've watched this scene so many times I never thought about how youthful Will's voice was in this moment. That said, when he shouts, "To Hell with him!" I hear the Will Smith I grew up to.

  9. At the moment that Will’s BIRTH father abandons him, his REAL father shows up! COME THROUGH, UNCLE PHIL!!!!! πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎ
