Here after the Jesse Michaels interview from yesterday. I can't believe I hadn't seen this movie, and having just watched it for the first time, I have to say it was truly fantastic. Definitely worth the watch! 10/10 👌

Of course one can not rerelease a 4K remaster of a 35 year old movie in 2024 without it suffering the modern movie look disease.
Natural blues are now sugar coated warm green/teals. So the viewer is getting his warm blanket of colours without even it noticing of course. Because when every movie looks like this, people are expecting it.

今、この部分を読む事により、二本の蠟燭とは、人と深淵の者の両者だとも解釈に到れる。
当初は和訳書籍はＳキングの作品ばかりで刪補されないくだくだしい文章になっていると身構えていたが読み果せると思いの外読み易い。
こうしてまた浮気読書が増えてゆく。
ツンドクよりマシだいっ！
映画本編についてはチラッと垣間見える人型水柱が印象的で、他、まるっと忘れる。

The abyss is an amazing movie, with amazing technology, I like that liquid oxygen, the liquid fills up in your helmet, you will panic at first, then all the sudden you can breathe, and dive thousands of feet in the ocean without imploding, nice 👍🏿
This movie is so good! Like out of the James Cameron movies I barely hear anyone talk about this one. It’s so good! I was a teen when I saw this and looking at it again in now, still blows me away

4K looks great of course but am I the only one thinking that the original "patina" adds to the edge? Now it feels too polished!

After many, many years, and long before
Avatar i saw this movie by James Cameron.
Somehow crossed my mind I haven't seen it
for decades. Now's the time.
And beside that, I've found the directors remastered cut,
menaing much longer, initially omitted scenes,
and much much better movie quality.
A reminder why and how long Cameron was and is
a great movie maker.
Pure joy.
