This movie is so bad i don't even think children should suffer through this like i did.
Wow they even do black man with white woman creating sickly child in children's movies, that's crazy. Miscegenation should not be celebrated.
Awesome movies. Suitable for children.

The plot of the movie is unique however the twist was already shown in the trailer
What a song is it
Does anybody know the song in this ??
The fact that this movie is based on divorce is good while casting rachel zigler ๐ i immediately knew this is garbage. Ik what theyโre saying that sometimes its good for parents to split but it doesnโt mean we should glorify it and tell kids from a very young age that divorce is ok. Also stop casting rachel
Divorce
The movie
This is so very well done ๐ the message is incredible. I wish I would've had this to watch when I was a child watching my parents slowly separate. I'm not saying it would've fixed things, but it certainly would've helped me feel not so alone.
A Troubling Message for Families
Spellbound, while visually charming and entertaining on the surface, presents a deeply concerning narrative that undermines the importance of family unity. This animated film subtly normalizes divorce, portraying it not only as an acceptable outcome but also as an inevitable one. The story seems to aim at young audiences, yet it sends a disheartening message about parental separation, suggesting that it's perfectly fine for kids to grow up in fractured households.
The movie frames divorce as a "modern" and "empowering" solution, disregarding its emotional toll on children. It glosses over the struggles, heartaches, and confusion that often accompany such situations, trivializing the profound impact of a family breaking apart. By normalizing the idea that "mom and dad don't have to live together," the film risks planting seeds of apathy toward maintaining familial bonds in the minds of its young viewers.
Moreover, the story lacks any meaningful resolution or acknowledgment of the emotional void that such separations can leave behind. Instead, it opts for a shallow conclusion where everyone is magically "better off apart." This oversimplification is not only unrealistic but also harmful, as it encourages escapism rather than reconciliation or effort toward resolving familial conflicts.
While it may appeal to audiences seeking visually delightful animation and catchy tunes, the underlying message of Spellbound raises serious concerns. Parents looking for wholesome, family-friendly entertainment should think twice before exposing their children to a film that downplays the importance of unity and trivializes the complexities of divorce.
They canceled the Cuphead show for this?
The parents are monsters because they want to divorce and expect their daughter to be ok with it.
This movie is awful. I watched it with my kids last night, the songs are ok but the story is slow and uninspired. Then at the end, just as the parents are about to be human again it pulls the rug out from under the audience and turns it into a story about how divorce is wonderful and the young girl just needs to get over wanting her family to be whole and except the new normal. Seriously, screw everyone involved in this garbage.
So turns out the twist the trailer mentions is that in order to live happily ever after, her parents get divorced.
Yup, that's the happy ending – is that the movie you want to take your kids to see?
Another, kiddooo movie.. Come on make something movie that's worth to watch.. This is movie is just full of bla bla bla. Princess without dying any characters. Whats wrong with producers now?
do you keep up with deleting negative comments?
Stereotype all Spanish Speakers into Black or mixed race โ
Make the POC come from a broken family โ
Make the General a woman โ
Add a gay couple โ
Another movie with black and mixed characters portraying Spanish people. The kingdom of Spain is in Europe and they have their own culture and regal court. Spain is not made up of just the Southern side with the gypsies and the Moorish influence. The Spanish people are made up of Germanic tribes and to American's shock, they are WHITE.
just watch WILD ROBOT…100% better than this..
after a year they lived in a separate castles but in the same kingdom..lol…
Normalizing divorce to young children…Better watch the movie first before u decide to let ur children watch it..
Magic, excitement, enchantments, wonders, imagination, music, action, fantasy, thrills, and adventures. Spellbound, that is a beautiful computer-animated movie I saw last month. It was musical, adventurous, dashing, exciting, and awesome! Princess Ellian, her parents, the king and queen, the griffins, the oracles of the sun and the moon, and all the magical creatures in the kingdom of Lumberia. It was my very first time seeing it on Netflix this year and I love it. Oh, boy, the strong-willed 15-year-old princess risks her young life to set her parents free from the spell that turned them into monsters a year ago. Their anger was the cause of this transformation when they always argued over their issues – They did it to themselves. But their daughter refuses to give up. She will not rest until the curse is broken and they can finally move on, so everything will be back to the way it was before. The royal king and queen will be human again and reunite with their only child. Ellian really is brave. And one day, she will be a great queen to inherit the throne. Nothing ceases to amaze me with magic. I never give up believing in fairies and magic with all my heart because I still refuse to grow up, and forget about the precious things I know, especially those from my childhood. No growing up, yuck! I am like Peter Pan and have his youthful spirit. My one and only wish is to keep the magic alive for all time and I also wish to be a fairy to stay strong, childlike, young, and beautiful forever and ever like Tinker Bell, and the other fair folks. So many strange and wondrous things. Magical things happen, but only if you're young at heart
