  2. I used to watch Eastenders every week but haven't watched it for donkey's years. But l do remember we were all really excited back in the day anticipating this new Soap. We ALL watched the first episode, even my husband!
πŸ˜……We both convinced my Mum that our dog watched it with us (admittedly, she did go all soppy when the 'Doof Doof' music started!). So convincingly, that when she was around ours, my Mum would shout out "Belle. 'Enders is on!" Up the stairs to get the dog down to watch it with us!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
2 of my sisters still watch it religiously. Never, ever think of ringing one of them when it's about to start or its on!!😑
    I said l'd watch this week's 40th Anniversary episodes for nostalgia-sake, and I'm so glad l did!
I've just sat and watched all episodes back-to-back this afternoon. I didn't know who's kid was whose or who was with whom even. But l didn't need to know because there were so many old familiar faces and characters.
I'm gunna admit here that found it easy to watch and pick up the storyline threads.
But what l wasn't expecting was to get so teary. I think the scene that really got me welling up was [spoiler alert!]….Ange coming back to visit Sharon when she was trapped. Call me an old sentimental fool but it just made me think of my own dear ol' Mum and wanting her to do that with me should l ever be really ill or hurt. It was sooo lovely😭
Was anyone else choking up at the Stacey/Martin end scenes. I just kept imagining what l'd be saying to the love of my life (my boyfriend-then husband who lve been with…46yrs) 😭😭
I said to my husband it was like a trip back in time, back to the 80s, when life (in London in particular) was so much better and easier.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself today…all l needed was a big tub of Quality Street to make it perfect! But real life kicks in and l can't scoff chocolate and carbs any more. But it's nice to get lost in happier times. Thanks for the memories ❀
