Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, “Prey” is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.

“Prey” stars Amber Midthunder (“The Ice Road,” “Roswell, New Mexico”), newcomer Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp (“Sooyii”), Michelle Thrush (“The Journey Home”), Julian Black Antelope (“Tribal”), and Dane DiLiegro (“American Horror Stories”) as the Predator. The film is directed by Dan Trachtenberg and written by Patrick Aison (“Jack Ryan,” “Treadstone”), with a story by Patrick Aison & Dan Trachtenberg based on characters created by Jim Thomas & John Thomas. It is produced by John Davis (“Jungle Cruise,” “Predator”), Jhane Myers (“Monsters of God”), and Marty Ewing (“It: Chapter Two”), with Lawrence Gordon (“Watchmen”), Ben Rosenblatt (“Snowpiercer”), James E. Thomas, John C. Thomas, and Marc Toberoff (“Fantasy Island”) serving as executive producers.

  16. Dan Trachtenberg's idea of doing a Predator movie in a completely different time pulled off absolutely amazingly. This has to be one of my new favourite movies, everything was just so captivating and thrilling, with a side of well-done comedic scenes. I think it'd be cool to see versions of this perhaps in Ancient Greece or China, which too will hopefully be done very well such as this one.

  27. Is it just me who is still confused as to how the predator's blood didn't harm the girl. Predator's blood can melt like acid I believe from first movie and she was covered in it.

    Fan: "So this is going to be a Predator movie, set in the same universe as the others?"

    DT: "Absolutely, in fact we have a nice little callback at the end that ties it to the other movies."

    Fan: "Sounds good! It'll be great to see Stan Winston's iconic Predator design used in a good movie!"

    DT: "Oh, we're not using that tired old crap, we're going to make something completely new."

    Fan: "You're not going to use the established Predator design that's been used in movies, video games and comics over the last 35 years? The design that Predator fans have come to know and love?"

    DT: "Nah. We looked at it and didn't think it was good enough for our movie, so we're going to redesign it into what WE think it should look like."

    Fan: "Isn't that kind of a slap in the face to Predator fans and a huge disrespect to Stan Winston?"

    DT: "Shut up and look at the action…"

    Fan: "Oooh, shiny…"
