  1. I really like how Alton is like an encyclopaedia, but I wish they explained the dish more, kind of like how Gordon talks about the dish while the contestants are cooking. I mean as a lay person who don't cook, it would be nice if they explain more about the dish like whether it's something difficult or which part of the dish is difficult to executer, or how it's different. I mean they talk about it a little, but I wish they explained more for audience who aren't familiar with cooking, for instance if they are deep frying, would be nice if they explained the different sort of batter they use and why its a good choice or an interesting choice or something.
Also Gordon Ramsay with Dominique Crenn would be so fun to watch. Her energy int he kitchen sort of reminds me of Gordon, just in terms of how they seem to have this excess energy.

  2. This show is just a joke. It's a disgrace to the past Iron Chef and Iron Chef America. It's just ad placements and woke garbage. The hostess is "progressive" and only adds that, her commentary is bland. It's just like she's there to attract like minded people just for viewership. Absolutely disgraceful.

  3. I’m going to go against the grain and say that this premise of a show is absolute garbage. It’s great for goldfish attention span entertainment, but those with an actual respect for food and chefs, it’s actually disappointing.

Each individual episode is a challenger facing an acclaimed iron chef, and the whold buildup is the top challenger vs. all 5 iron chefs, at ONCE?

Doesn’t matter if the secret ingredient is land or sea, what matters is that all top chefs have their signature land and sea dish memorized, but the issue with this is that all 5 iron chefs can cook their “safe” land/sea dishes whereas the challenger needs to cook their best land/sea dish and also come up with X more to beat out the other outstanding chefs. This show isnt looking for a legend, it’s looking for a god (understatement much).

  4. Four of the new Iron Chefs: Curtis Stone, Marcus Samuelsson, Dominique Creen and Ming Tsai were challengers on Iron Chef America before they were on this as new Iron Chefs.

  5. So happy too see this show back. It never should’ve left. Abolishes success. Love Kish with Alton she’s the best sidekick he’s ever had by a million miles. With that being said! I seen many ideas stolen from other world renowned chefs from all over the world during this season. More specifically the “Forest Floor” dish is a world famous dish by one of the greatest Japanese chefs on the planet in Yoshihiro Narisawa. I mean the dish was exactly the same. Even the name. Stuff like this is just shocking too me. You want to be inspired by a recipe? Phenomenal! That’s good. A great chef needs inspiration. But to take a dish and coin it as your own original creation and even steal the name from the “inspiration” is jaw dropping. And don’t tell me “Originality” isn’t a part of the Iron Chefs job. It’s literally one of the main judged criteria for this show. A show which happens to be on Netflix called “The Final Table” showcases this “Forest Floor” dish with the right creator of the dish in Chef Narisawa of Japan. You can find this in the shows finale episode around the 6 min mark or so. This show was filmed and released a little over 5 years before Iron Chef aired. Sorry for the rant. But if you made it this far. One of the Iron Chefs is a fraud!

  6. Hereford deserved the win, in my opinion the chef failed at proper streetfood in a dish with the curry and the judges were wiling to let the iron chef slide due to themselves being rich and being used to eating non streetfood.

  7. During the first episode chef Curtis stone skip the course. The first course never made it to the table. Do they think we’re stupid. I watched it three times just to make sure I wasn’t going crazy. They could’ve edited way better.

  8. Mixed feelings, I think the guest judges were interesting and gave more insight than I kinda gave them credit for in the beginning. But I think the mashup of chefs was kinda cringe. It felt more like an advertisement for Macys than a nod to the cult classic so many chefs and foodies grew up watching. I was waiting for them to look directly at the camera and start an infomercial. Like each chef was so used to being the star of their own show they seemed to try and step in front of the other to give a hammy performance. Like I have never been a fan of Marcus Samuelson, I feel like he spends too much time talking about himself and his background, especially if someone else is talking, he has to make it about him, its like just let the food speak for itself,

  9. Love the old iron chef. This one is not great, and andrew Zimmerman has to be the worst judge explaining his incompetent judgment on their food. He doesn't make sense when explaining. BORING!

  10. Enjoyed this! But the flaw in this new system where the most successful challenger comes back in the finale became pretty much apparent a few episodes in, Not gonna spoil anything but one episode was in a crazily different league then the others😂

  11. I wish they would just have proper chefs as judges if there's anymore 2nd season. It's logical to be judged by your own peers than quasi food experts. Motamed had been schooled by Tom Colicchio at Top Chef before, and in this show, Kirsch corrected her about berbere spice and Morimoto did the same.

  12. It started off great.. then it got Americanized… if you don’t know what that means… chefs like these never make mistakes! Pretending they are behind on time!!!! Embarrassing to fellow chefs

  13. I watched this on Netflix and it was s o much fun! Much recommended if you love seeing people from around the world express their love for food and their meaningful story behind it.

  14. Watching the challenger try to beat the 5 Iron Chefs is like watching a video game player getting to the final level of the game and trying to beat all the bosses of the previous stages.

  15. Chef Samuelson seemed to be the weakest link among the chefs. Not surprising since he made little impact on his previous attempts on two seasons of Next Iron Chef.

  16. This show was such a disappointment. It lacked the competition and excitement of the old series. Most of the new Iron Chefs do not seem to be up to par with past chefs like Zakarian, Batali and Morimoto (not counting Flay…he was so sub par). The new set and music also fails for me. More of a variety of judges would have also been nice. Alton Brown was good as always but his new sidekick lacks personality. Very stoic and boring. The show….pretty bland.

  17. I hope there will be a new season! I still can't believe how we have top tier chefs with Michelin stars now! Dominique Crem and Curtis Stone have earned stars, and the former is considered one of the world's best! Also I would love to see Chef Morimoto come back as the OG of iron chefs!
