  1. Huge kudos to the majority female (yay!) team for the devotion to historical accuracy in Series 1, reproducing certain sequences of Lister’s life so faithfully while weaving an incredibly entertaining tale too. It is especially important since her at times rakish persona – accurate as it is – could been seen as a hurtful trope about butch lesbians (even though that term post dates her). Love her relationship with her sister and the

  2. She’s baaaaaaaack! I can’t wait for the show’s arrival in the US. Nice to see that the show will also get into thr consequences of Anne’s throwaway comment that she “never done this before” during her first time making out with Ann. This show is splendid and was a delight to Mt multigenerational family. Had my stodgy dad in tears at their reunion in the series 1 finale.

  3. I come from Middleton, near Manchester where Suranne Jones comes from, my late father knew her Aunty. She is a great actress. I must confess I was (like most of my contemparies) somewhat homophobic in the 1980's (I am now 58), as was the prevailing opinion in society as a whole, but it is good the way that tolerance has been helped by this show.

  4. Suranne and Sophie have created (via Wainwright) a nuclear fusion between themselves and Lister/Walker. They have
gone critical mass in terms of a realistic performance. What truly makes their roles even MORE like a chain reaction to the viewing public is their open-minded comments on women loving women when being interviewed about playing two women who love one another. Their caring explanations, understanding, and heartfelt acceptance all come through, thus makes their roles even more dynamic. Yeah, I guess I am quite taken with it all. 😉 If Wainwright wants a 3rd season, do it.

  5. What’s with the eyebrows? She looked perfectly well last season, without malformed catterpillars with geometrical aspirations for eyebrows.

  6. I love Anne's masculine attire! I like to think if I had lived back then that's how I would've wanted to dress, not all of the silly foo foo dresses with bows and frills, I know I like men's inspired clothes now much better then women's.
