  1. Very good and misunderstood movie. 1. It raises a moral question, showing that good people can do bad and bad people can do good. The question is, is anyone purely good or purely bad? There is no answer to that and that ambiguity can make people uncomfortable/irritable. Discomfort with ambiguity is a trait of Western/American deep culture, meaning it is often an unconscious and difficult attribute to change in a person. 2. People said it was racist. The movie is literally about racism. Even the directors choices are racist. Race in America is a volatile and violent history and topic. Something can be racist and we can still learn from that example—we kind of have to. Face it. 3. Having been in LA now 13 years, this is an accurate representation of some (not all sides whatsoever) of common folks you’ll find here. Metal and glass it remains to this day. People are in their cars or in their houses/buildings. If you are interested in what made LA a sprawling car-dependent city, research the Red Cars and what happened to land development while Los Angeles was being occupied and built by the Spanish and British. It’s a thoroughly planned-out roadside attraction economy to keep people driving. Pretty nuts.

  2. Stupidest movie ever. Two African Americans complain that a white couple reacted afraid of them, like they were criminals,, and then proceed to carjack them.

  3. I picked up a copy of this on disc yesterday. Wow wow wow. I know I seen it back in the day when it came out but wow what a movie. I had forgotten 95% of it. Great watch.

  4. First hour seemed to be aiming somewhere towards a very good story but then it all turned to silly cloaks, happenstance and the storytelling unravelled. First hour 8/10 last 50mins felt like 50 hours 2/10. Nearly nailed it but turned into a CRASH!!! A shame really that someone would only ink half a script, i thought id unearthed the spectacular, a keeper for my blu my collection , but off to CEX it goes to join the other unloved blu ray movies on a shelf of the unwanted, like woody in toy story 😢. Some viewers will watch this in awe as their tiny uneducated minds will still be trying to workout the first half by the time they have managed that the film had ended and they just gave good reviews not noticing how the second half was a heap of horse shite ten manures high.

  5. Does anyone know where I can watch it? It’s on no streaming service and I can’t even buy it on Apple. I have a dvd but man I haven’t owned a dvd player in years 😅
