Bitconned | Official Trailer | Netflix

Ray Trapani had always wanted to be a criminal, even as a young boy. In 2017, amidst the economic frenzy of the Bitcoin boom, there was no better place for scammers than cryptocurrency. So when Ray’s friend approached him with the idea of creating a debit card for crypto, Trapani jumped at the chance. There was only one problem: he had no idea how to do that. But thanks to fake LinkedIn profiles, paid celebrity endorsements, and the online community’s insatiable desire to “get rich quick,” Centra Tech was soon raking in millions of dollars a day. Was it real? No. But did it work? Maybe. In this fast-paced, debaucherous documentary from director Bryan Storkel (Producer of The Legend of Cocaine Island + Director of The Pez Outlaw), Ray himself guides viewers through the ups and downs of his dramatic journey, alongside his family, former friends, and the journalist who exposed Centra Tech as the first high-profile fraud case of the crypto era.

  1. I can believe this guy got away with it and then he buys a house after the court orders him to pay 2.9 million to victims…. buddy has money hidden away…. pos needs to be re-charged

  2. To me, this documentary shows how the justice system is deeply morally bankrupt and incompetent (as well as people like Ray, and everyone involved in this scam). I think victims should be repaid in full with the money these people have left since almost all of it was ill-gotten.

In fact, I see this documentary as a good promotion for WHY crypto and businesses should replace the government and every one of its functions including currency, justice and criminal investigation.

My dad was also scammed in the "Airbit Club" scam. They caught the people behind it and seized "$200 million" in assets from them several years ago, my dad still hasn't gotten any of that money, and the government hasn't even replied to any of the emails we sent to Wendy Olsen Clancy from New York, the DOJ worker in charge of this.

Meanwhile, I have seen hacks in crypto having their websites flagged as scams to millions of users within hours, and hacks in the hundreds of millions recovered in a few weeks to a few months without any police intervention, just using cryptographic tools and coordinating crypto companies.

This judgement is completely unfair towards the victims. If crypto succeeds, governments become obsolete. The world is built by givers and creators, not by takers like these.

  3. This mentally challenge, morally bankrupt, person who failed suicide after stealing money from grandpa. Tried to fill a void of never knowing his father decides to be the worst criminal in trying out the crypto scandal who calls investors basically morons. The fact he is not in jail is mind blowing.

  4. Just watched this. I feel deeply sorry for those who lost their money to him and co. It would be so hurting for me to watch someone who conned me say that they would do it again without remorse.

  5. I'm surprised that Ray ent dead or bein tortured to death then resuscitated to repeat all over again, what an absolute horrible person

  6. The family this is about is proof money cant buy class or character. The worst part to me is when this guy had a baby, his own family failed to raise him with any sense of not being the type of person society would want to spit on on sight. But they did seem overly protective, very proud of his talents in ripping off other people's kids and families. Like parasitic leeches. There's a good chance the cycle will continue, maybe not, but stories about people like this give me no hope to anything otherwise. It's all so disgusting really. Our joke of a legal system fails again. You can't be one of their victims if you protect yourself wisely!!

  7. AND THE GOVERNMENT FEDS AND SEC ETC. seized MILLIONS from the Fraudulent Company but NOT 1 INVESTOR WAS PAID BACK😮. THAT'S a story we need to cover.

  8. 10. This trailer could have been entirely about my last company – except it was a software company. Even the execs called it vapourware, and some peiple started to think the company was a front for money laundering. The company is broke now, just months after getting millions and millions in investment funding, and the founder has left to start a new company…. There should be a public list for fraud-based startups, so when the creators go and start a new one people can be protected from falling for a rebranded scam.

  11. I just watched the Netflix movie on this and this guy is a scam-scumbag and the FBI and the court system just let him basically walk. And walk with stolen money.
I was hoping at the end that he would be found guilty and spend at least 8 years like that other partner. Then I was hoping during the credits rolling I would see that he got caught doing some other stuff and is in prison. But no …sadly. And I don't want to talk about the guy's Mom so …..

  12. Spoiler elect the USA gov pocketed all the crypto lmao, and so the white guy was able to keep some and get out of jail by being a snitch😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  13. i still dont know how this scum bag got no jail time. its like the government condemns scams and that they'd be no consequences. feel for the victims though, hope karma serves this guy well.
