Reviews:
“”No Letting Go” is obviously a labor of love. While the film is marvelously made, it just doesn’t seem like the most commercial of productions. Instead, it’s a film with a strong message and addresses a problem seldom talked about in movies…childhood mental illness.
When the film begins, Timothy is a 10 year-old who is starting to show some serious signs of anxiety–something you just wouldn’t expect in a kid his age. His parents take him to therapy but it doesn’t really seem to help. Then, the film jumps ahead to age 14. Now Timothy is not only anxious but seriously depressed…and with childhood depression comes a lot of other things, such as anger and unpredictability. The film not only focuses on Timothy but also on his family and how Timothy’s precarious mental state effects them all in different ways. His parents’ marriage is tense and difficult and his brothers obviously are affected as well. So is there any hope? Of course, as this a film about so much more than just a miserable family.
There is so much I love about this movie. The acting is very nice and most of the folks are faces you won’t recognize…which is a plus because this makes them seem like a very real family. The direction by Jonathan Bucari is just amazing and the writing by Bucari and Randy Silverman shows that they know a lot about mental illness and its treatment. Considering I am a trained psychotherapist and have had to deal with mental illness in my own family, I can clearly see that they sure did their research. As a result, they offer a film with many great things to offer…hope for families…awareness of how widespread these problems are…the way it affects friends and neighbors…as well as the ways depression come out in children and teens. All in all, a great message film which not only does a great and beneficial service but is also highly engaging. It also has been taking many awards in the film festival circuit…and justified as the film has so much to offer and is so original. Fortunately, this film will be making its debut in March–so you can see it without the need of going to a film festival!”

Good movie thank you
Any family who has been through this sort of thing knows the heatbreak and feeling of being helpless. Sadly there is very little help available. Well worth watching this very informative docudrama. Thank you.
The falling family of Jeff Reifel; Louis the German, who is, in fact: Russian, Reifel is a Russian name; the Reifel Castle in Germany is a staged Phenomenon, does not belong!
Tim's letter writing a big mistake; better to keep them off balance, they will use it against him. He has a big heart, in the past, didn't do him many favors!
Her mother is dead; that could have saved the world, that was Zelda now, the father a notorious believer in mental illness needs to be knock off his high horse: obviously he doesn't have Bi polar disorder, he would know it though, I would: they laugh hard and cry hard all in the same 5 minutes, I've seen it!
He's hated by the Catholic Church and he's Abraham; if they put him away the world will start to destroy itself! He created it.
This is 2025; no medical system that is reliable, destroyed by Hillary Clinton: kid needs some coffee or a suppressant!
You might have got Jeff under wraps; the older brother, pissed off, should be! This is how it might possibly be without the influence of the Catholic Church; the squeakiest wheel philosophy!
If that play was Robin Hood; it's evil and he cannot partake as an actor: not mentally ill either!
Growing up with the same issues almost to a T. I have bipolar and went away to treatment at 18 after being on 20 different meds and so depressed not being able to get out of bed and manic swings so bad I put holes in walls and broke stuff. I was pretty upset being sent away but I’d been in so many psych hospitals already. It doesn’t go away but you get to a point where you recognize your symptoms. Living in a therapeutic environment and having a roommate helped my mental health. I didn’t do so well alone. The only difference between me and Tim was I used drugs to cope and now I’m clean 2 years and live independently and work. It’s okay to ask for help. You’re not alone and reach out. It gets better with the right help.
Just Thank you.. And a huge thank you for all the professionals who are out there helping all the time❤
This deeply touched me. I wish more folk would see this. For families with children that have these issues this helps educate the world that “not letting them get away with it” or a smack on the behind is not the answer. They need help from professionals. Thank you for this film
What a terrible movie. Acting couldn't possibly be worse. 😂
I am enriched to watch the movie.
This is probably one of the best movies that I have seen, and it is a voice to so many families and their struggles. Thank you YouTube for making this movie accessible.
What wonderful parents , well worth the wTch
I had some symptoms of it but soon I got better
There's a huge number of young men & young ladies that go through these ordeal. The story happens to an upper middle class family. Who had the money to deal with this problem . After the pandemia, soo many teens were affected ,emotionally with depression, a mental illnesses. They're still ouththere with no help from the government, or institutions because " The system failed them . Their parents suffer the abvominable pain of sent them to mental hospitals funded, by a government who attends to this problems in a poorly attention. I see them , rooming around the city, sometimes young men & women who deserve, better…
The acting and direction were amazing. There were moments of intensity that were captured with such intimacy you'd swear you were in the room watching the action. At times, the line between acting and reality was so fine, I couldn't tell the difference. Scripts like this are rare; it's as if it were transcribed from actual conversation, which again makes the film seam to reflect real life. Gotta say, I was deeply moved, and had to brush away the tears in places from time to time. I mean, how much can one family take, yet keep on going. The title says it all.
What a great movie in sooo many ways, ❣️
I've watched this movie twice very educational love it
acceptance is more important…😢
I remember going through so issues/time in the life of my older son and we were considering a facility like the one in Maine…
He still has bouts of "changes of consciousness" and it is hard on all of us. Now of course for especially his wife…
No mention in the movie if the son(s) had been vaccinated? Chemo is not medicine.
Thank you for the insights into this awful trial for the sufferers and their families ! 😢 . Great that there are facilities nowadays to help… I know a fellow who has this condition and he is a very talented , caring and helpful man !
It was hard to watch at times, but a very knowledgably movie for anyone going through this with a family member. Well done and thank you
WOW!… Love, patience, persistance and hope can do miracles. Thanks
