Should it be mentioned that this scene is actually sad when viewed in a broader context? Just think about how long Bee must have been alone to the point of making toys for himself just to have someone to talk to. Even in the movie itself (I’ve watched it), spoiler below for those who haven’t seen it.
When Orion and D-16 first meet Bee, Bee initially thought he had imagined them, saying, "I didn’t imagine you, you’re real." This is really sad because it means Bee had already experienced hallucinations. How lonely he must have been before meeting Orion.
