   Linklater is a master at navigating and meshing all the wild genre twists in this story – from tense thriller, to racing action, to black comedy.
   Glen Powell gives an outstanding performance, or should I say performances, stepping into nearly a dozen different personas as an undercover cop.
   Worth watching!

35. I’m at a loss at all the praise this movie is receiving on here. I thought it was mid-tier Linklater(certainly not Boyhood or Waking Life or Before series level) and the lead, Powell, was TV actor level and was charming enough and worked well enough with his costar but isn’t some mega wattage star. To me it was kinda Pink Panther meets noir meets generic romcom and certainly not a throwback to classic screwball comedies like Bringing Up Baby, The Lady Eve, It Hppened One Night, etc, that Linklater said inspired him. It’s worth the watch but nothing that special imo🤷‍♂
