  1. As a Englishman (and historian) I must say that had it not been for those in this film who are OBVIOUSLY not of an English heritage, and the modern solo during its conclusion, this would have been a perfectly filmed romance drama. Neither the clothes nor the foods (and other things) are accurate but still a nicely done (for the most part) work of fiction. Pity though… if the director wouldn’t have tried to, “WOKE” it up with absurdities it would have been even better.

  2. To all the internet girlies complaining about this film, it was fine. Just relax. I really liked it. Not everything has to be exactly like the original to be enjoyable.

  3. Why the Americans have to destroy everything? Black women in film? That doesn't exist in Jane Austen's books. Terrible acting, the entire 10 minutes of the movie that I watched was terrible. I can't watch this anymore.

  4. I just watched this movie and I am honestly blown away! Of course what was shown in this trailer is different than the movie itself so thankful for that! Overall loved this film, yes there’s the touch of modernity, BUT I’m glad the characters still had some of their strong traits and was shown properly in the movie.

  5. I feel that the language used is not appropriate for this book like Anne would never say now we are worse than exes we are friends. Anne is not supposed to seem like she is the main character and everything revolves around her. She is more a quiet kind girl in the back and in the end everyone around her realizes that she is more than just someone in the back, and that she is perfection itself.

  6. omg dakato johnson is so insufferable ….. the persuasion 2007 British version is so beautiful and exquisite much better than this 'smarmy self satisfied' piece of trash .. with bad english accents.

  7. A lot of snobs here smh. 🙄 The reason why literature dies in this generation is because of elitists like you. The point of this movie is not to replace the Jane Austen classic, but rather, to appeal to a younger audience who are most likely not into reading old novels and to possibly develop a love for it. Ya’ll act as if you are above everyone else just because you have read the originals. Well, it is our responsibility to make the younger population to start loving the classics that we also loved and if this film is doing that, then I support it.
