Snow white, barbie, wicked, mary, the last showgirl, joker 2 ( with harley quinn🙄).
Terrifier 3 with girl clown….where are the male movies?
They will make mary more important than jesus and god….more women centered stuff
Only one problem..The Angel Gabriel looked very "tr@ns" and came across as very weird…😮
I watched it tonight… Anthony Hopkins performance was fantastic, as were the other actors and actresses.. Joachim and Ann (Mary's parents) gave fantastic performances, as did the actor who played Joseph. Both actresses who played young Mary and adult Mary were brilliant also. Brilliant scenery and a beautiful music score, drew us in to the story. It filled in Mary's background and the hardships she went through which I never knew anything about. It was a very emotive and stirring film.. Made me proud to call myself a Christian. ❤
The choice of makeup on Maria is insane: she has botulinum lips and the makeup of a Tik Tok influencer, not an icon of Faith!
But have they ever seen a painting, ever studied the sources to give a minimal sense of truth?
Fiction is Netflix's biggest strength. This will be great!
NETFLIX doing a Mary movie is like Jesus playing Poker.
Good film. Beautifully shot. He's getting on but still a great performance by Tony Hopkins👍
Gods loved you Uk AU AM Jordan ARM ROM. All Likes Newsland
they screwed it up
Quran: 3:42: "O Mary, indeed Allāh has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds"
3:45 "Remember when the angels proclaimed, “O Mary! Allah gives you good news of a Word from Him, his name will be the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary; honored in this world and the Hereafter, and he will be one of those nearest to Allah."
Looks wonderfully filmed. I know they have changed a few things and the legalistic Christians are complaining, but the Young Messiah and Risen also had added narratives, but they were beautifully filmed and carried a spiritual punch!
Just glad they are still making biblical movies!
One thing that does bother me about this film is something I saw in one of the trailers. Mary and her mother, Anne are talking and Mary is visibly upset as she tells her mother that she is with child. Her words in the script make it seem as though she is in disbelief in a way. What is known in scripture is that Mary was actually given the choice to accept the gift of baring the Messiah. She wasn't forced. Chosen, yes, but not forced. She agreed, knowing full well that she would have to raise him only to give him back to God. In scripture, she says, "May it be done to me according to your will." That scene made me raise my eyebrow a bit. Mary wouldn't have been crying and in disbelief. I personally think, knowing just how full of Grace she truly is, that she would have been overcome with joy.
So, uh, time to split the Church watchers.
Mary is going through labor pains in the stable towards the end of the trailer. Ask your priest or pastor what their stance on that is.
Maybe it's my the algorithm, but I can't help but feel a little hopeful about the future. Trump isnt perfect, but I think his election could herald a return to traditional values in America. Notre Dame has reopened and is more beautiful than ever. And Netflix is putting out a movie about the Blessed Mother and the Nativity of Christ. It's refreshing.
´In the end, ĺove will save the world´ gave me goosebumps
please be no woke BS
interesting
Total crap from the beginning
They completely messed up the story. Joseph was older, formerly married, and his wife died. Joseph took Mary to be his wife to preserve her. The Virgin was dedicated to the temple and lived there until the time came and Joseph wed her.
Catholic here; 3 mistakes already in this trailer about our holy mother that just doesn't sit right:
1. Maria says literally on 03:00 :idk y but i was chosen for this. GUYS … MARIA KNEW SHE WAS TO BE CHOSEN!
2. Maria is doubting the question wrongly here at 1:06 – "But that's not possible." like she's questioning how God would make it possible like the movie here, instead she should be saying “How will this be, since I am a virgin?”, as this question is a clear indication that she accepted not only with consent but only wondered how it can happen, not ask like a flawed human.
(side point here) Maria and Joseph's betrothal is outside in the nature and not near any temple of God. this is concerning but its upto what they show.
3. at 1:37 our Holy mother is delivering our Lord Iesus in the normal way as any woman out there would do so.
problem ?
Maria was born and was FREE FROM ORIGINAL SIN by Gods grace, thus eliminating her chances to face the birthing pains a normal mother would receive, and therefore she should NOT AT ALL BE GIVING BIRTH IN THIS MANNER.
and one more side note:
she saying at the end of 1:51 that "love will save the world" give me an odd feeling that the message of God and her pious role will be undermined for the sake of the hippie-like message of "God" that sounds like
" GOD LOVES YOU NO MATTER WHAT AND LOVE WINS"
when it should be
"GOD LOVES THE SINNER BUT NOT THE SIN, AND HIS LOVE SHALL REIGN OVER EVIL" etc .
this just sounds like the modern message in similarity to the pride +LGBT movements while removing the message that GOD came to save us from SIN. WITH HIS LOVE and us BELEIVING IN THE ONLY RISEN LORD.
lets see what they show, but it really rubs it the wrong way here with how she said it.
I can only guess that her character in this movie was being presented to humanize the virgin mother, but the problem is that it misses out the meaning and actual basis of who she really is, and therefore I don't think its worth the money to spend on a movie that has flawed the few but vital characteristics of our Holy Mother. Just pass.
This movie is blasphemous garbage, don't watch it
In the quiet words of the Virgin Mary: "Come again?"
This comment section would look totally different if a black actress was playing Mary lol,
Food for thought. Orthodox Christians don't regard Mary and Joseph as a young couple. Mary was a miracle birth to two very old people: Joachim and Anna. They brought her to the Temple when she was 3 years old. Mary stayed in the Holy of the Holies and was ministered by angels. When she came to age 14/15 the Chief Priest didn't know what to do with her as she did not want to be married. So they betrothed her to an older relative, a widow named Joseph. Joseph was essentially Mary's protector. They were not a "married couple" as we know it. Mary conceived a child through the Holy Spirit. Jesus was born of her flesh and the Holy Spirit. Her womb was made holy by the very fact that Jesus abided in her womb. This is why we call the Virgin Mary the Theotokos. It means the God-bearer. The title is important since many early heresies doubted the divinity of Jesus Christ. It goes without saying, that Orthodox Christianity does not accept the notion that the Virgin Mary had other children. Yes, there are those who refer to James as the "Brother of the Lord." However, brother, and brethren does not always mean "blood brothers." The brothers of Jesus were cousins or they were the children of Joseph from his first marriage with Salome. Was the Virgin Mary sinless? Only Jesus Christ was sinless, however we believe that the Virgin Mary followed the will of her Son perfectly. Blessed Advent to all!
Really hope this is faithful to the source material and not some feminist propaganda piece. 🙏🏻
Just a reminder that Jesus was Palestinian for this Christmas.
